Junior Team

Triple Threat Tough Junior provides a positive opportunity for kids to enter into the sport of youth triathlon and excel at multisport disciplines. Through group workouts led by professional coaches, youth athletes will learn the skills, concepts, and values intrinsic to triathlon. One spring and one fall session is offered with each training towards a specific race. Read the descriptions of the sessions for minimum age and athletic requirements. The ultimate goal of Triple Threat Tough Junior is to involve kids in a sport that will give them variety, help them to stay active and allow them to, above all else, have FUN!

Spring Session

The training for this session is aimed at the Baylor Tom Landry Sunny Kids Tri (http://baylortomlandrytri.com/kids-tri/). This event has two options: Triathlon – Youth Junior Age 6-10 100M swim + 3 mi bike + 1K run, Youth Senior Age 11-15 200m swim + 6 mi bike + 2K run; Splash & Dash – Youth Junior Age 6-10 100M swim + 1K run, Youth Senior Age 11-15 200m swim + 2K run. The training session starts the first week of March and goes through race day. Kids can participate in multiple group workouts per week. Each workout will be structured by a professionally certified coach to prepare the kids for their individual distances. Attendance is not mandatory, but the more workouts they can make, the more prepared they will be for race day.

Age and Athletic Requirements:
Open to kids age 6-15 as of December 31 each year. No previous triathlon experience required, in fact, we love newbies. Your child should be able to SAFELY cross 25 yards of a pool (down a standard lap pool), ride a bike comfortably around others (if doing the splash n dash, they do not have to have a bike nor attend bike practices), and be able to walk for 10 minutes straight. All kids must be USA Triathlon youth members prior to participation in any Triple Threat Tough group workout.

Spring Semester = $200.00​

The membership fee is NON-REFUNDABLE, NON-TRANSFERABLE.

Fall Session

The training for this session is aimed at the Monster Kids Triathlon (https://www.trisignup.com/Race/TX/Keller/MonsterKidsTriathlon) for ages 7-14 or the Monster Triathlon (https://www.trisignup.com/Race/TX/Keller/MonsterTriathlon) for ages 15-17. The Kids Tri divisions Triple Threat Tough will train for are: Road Runners (7-10 age group) – Swim 75 yards + bike 2 miles + run 1 mile; Tri Gladiators (11-14 age group) – Swim 125 yards + bike 3 miles + run 1 mile. For ages 15-17, the Monster Tri is 300 meter swim + 12.8 miles bike + 3.1 mile run. The training session starts the first week of September and goes through race day. Kids can participate in multiple group workouts per week. Each workout will be structured by a professionally certified coach to prepare the kids for their individual distances.
